TD Union Block Party:
Revisit summer and get ready for a new season of live music with TD Music Fridays
Published on October 14th, 2016
Music brings people together. So what better place to celebrate music together than Toronto’s Union Station, Canada’s largest transit hub?
This past summer, we did just that, kicking off a fantastic season of music with the TD Union Block Party. The plaza outside of Union was transformed into a public block party, with music fans treated to a free live concert featuring co-headliners Francesco Yates and Shawn Hook – two exciting singers, songwriters and multi-instrumentalists whose careers are soaring both at home and internationally – as well as rising young singer-songwriters Andee and NEFE.
The TD Union Block Party was hosted by Kardinal Offishall, music mentor and Canadian hip-hop ambassador, who spoke eloquently throughout the event about why music matters in our lives. People at the event also had a lot to say – and write! – on this topic.
Now, as the seasons shift, we return to Union Station to present TD Music Fridays: A showcase of #TorontoMade talent.
From Friday October 7 through Friday December 9, between 4:30 to 6:30pm, artists who’ve found their inspiration, stories or sounds in Toronto will perform on intimate stages that pop up in different locations at Union Station.
Watch the video above to take in some of the sights and sounds from the TD Union Block Party and visit our TD Music Fridays event page to find out which #TorontoMade artists will join us at Union soon!
