2 Minutes with Chantal and Raine
Canada’s first couple of music sounds off on collaboration

For musicians Raine Maida and Chantal Kreviazuk, one of Canada’s most influential cultural couples, collaboration is key. Both are JUNO Award winners with highly successful careers - Raine as front man of rock band Our Lady Peace and a solo artist, and Chantal as a sought after vocalist and pianist. The duo also shares a commitment to humanitarian issues, supporting causes and communities both at home and abroad.
Though, historically, much of their work has been separate, Chantal and Raine are constant collaborators - as partners, parents and, increasingly, musicians. The pair recently launched Moon vs. Sun, an exciting collaborative project with lyrical honesty and shared songwriting at its core. Moon vs. Sun will tour parts of Canada in February.
First though, Raine and Chantal performed a special daytime concert for the Calgary community, held at The CORE and presented by TD. They were even joined on stage for a song by young participants in the Legacy Children’s Foundation ‘Gift of Music’ program, a 2015 MusiCounts TD Community Music Program recipient.
Watch the video above to see highlights from the concert, and to hear Chantal and Raine discuss just why collaboration is so important to them.
