From Beats to Biz: Canada’s Music Incubator helps artists grow as entrepreneurs

Published December 3rd, 2015

With the challenging nature of today’s music business, it’s essential for artists to represent - both on stage and as a business. They need to know and do more than ever in order to develop sustainable careers and businesses.

That’s where companies like Toronto’s Coalition Music can help. They founded Canada’s Music Incubator (CMI), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing professional development for musical artists and managers by emphasizing mentorship, networking, collaboration and entrepreneurship.

TD is pleased to support CMI’s Artist Entrepreneur program, designed to foster business acumen, collaboration and personal growth in a creative and inclusive environment. For 10 weeks of incubation, artists from all genres come together to solidify their business, establish brand identity, push their limits as songwriters and performers, and more.

Watch the video above to learn more about the program and get a glimpse into the world of musicians who participated in the most recent sessions.
