Connor Ross: Meet the Talented Teen Behind “We Are One”

Published March 26 2015

16-year-old singer-songwriter and music producer Connor Ross has got it going on. The Grade 11 student enrolled in the Arts Program at Ontario’s Mayfield Secondary School composes and records his own music, plays a bunch of instruments, and fronts the band North of Nowhere.

We learned about Connor after he won the first-ever Music Monday Anthem Search. His unifying anthem, “We Are One,” was selected out of 200 submissions to help inspire Canadians of all ages to come together in song on Monday May 4.

TD Music shared Connor’s music video for “We Are One” earlier this year, and invited the talented artist to perform at the TD Music Green Room during JUNO Week. Watch the video above to see some of his set, and to visit Connor’s home for a little more insight into what motivates him as a musician.

He’s got a pretty sweet rehearsal space too!

There are lots of ways to join in on Music Monday. See what people are planning in schools and other locations near you, and take part in the conversation online via #MMWeAreOne.
