Early this summer, the inaugural TD music café took place in downtown Toronto, outside of the iconic Roy Thomson Hall. This free pop-up concert treated music lovers to a wide range of sounds as artists both established and emerging took to the stage. They also took the time to speak with us following their sets.

Performers included Allie and Elaquent, two artists who have received support and shine from Manifesto Community Projects, a Canadian non-profit organization working to unite, inspire and empower diverse communities of young people through arts and culture. TD is proud to support the Manifesto Festival of Community & Culture, taking place this year from September 13 - 21 at Toronto’s Yonge Dundas Square.

Allie is a fast-rising, Toronto-based soul and R&B singer who has received acclaim both nationally and abroad. Ever evolving in her sound, Allie collaborates with a variety of producers, including prolific, in-demand beatsmith Elaquent, who is known for his smooth, soulful style and off-kilter, neck-break beats.

Allie and Elaquent spoke with TD Music about topics including Early Music Career Priorities, Image and Truth, the Cornerstones of a Good Collaboration, and the significance of Manifesto Community Projects.
